Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut Champagne originates from the prestigious Champagne region of France, known for its world-renowned sparkling wines. The blend incorporates grapes from 100 different crus across the Montagne de Reims, Côte des Blancs, Aube, and Vallée de la Marne. These regions, each with distinct terroirs, contribute to the complexity and character of the final cuvée.
This Champagne is a blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 30% Pinot Meunier, and 20% Chardonnay. Pinot Noir lends structure and depth, Pinot Meunier provides fruitiness and roundness, and Chardonnay contributes elegance and freshness.
The wine undergoes its first fermentation in stainless steel tanks to preserve its bright fruit flavours. Full malolactic fermentation softens the acidity, resulting in a creamy texture. After blending, including 30% reserve wines, the wine is bottled and aged on the lees for three years. Following disgorgement, a dosage is added, and the wine is rested for six months before release to ensure perfect balance.
The Cuvée Brut displays a pale golden colour with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose reveals intense aromas of almonds, fresh hazelnuts, and delicate citrus. The palate is lively and light, showcasing fresh pear and apple flavours, complemented by subtle citrus and a hint of brioche.
This champagne pairs well with seafood, such as oysters and scallops, as well as light appetisers, sushi, and white meats. It also makes it an ideal companion to soft cheeses and fruit-based desserts. Serve chilled at 8–10°C.
