Antonella Corda Vermentino di Sardegna originates from the hills near Serdiana, in southern Sardinia. This area benefits from a Mediterranean climate, with constant coastal breezes and limestone-rich soils that lend freshness and minerality to the wines. The region is well-known for producing high-quality Vermentino, the island's signature white grape, which thrives under these ideal growing conditions.
This wine is made from 100% Vermentino, a varietal prized for its aromatic intensity and crisp, lively profile. It is a dry, medium-bodied white wine that expresses the sun-drenched character of Sardinia while maintaining excellent freshness and finesse.
Grapes are harvested by hand in early September and fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is then aged for six months on its fine lees in steel, which enhances its texture and aromatic complexity while preserving its vibrant fruit character and natural acidity.
This Vermentino displays fragrant aromas reminiscent of a Mediterranean garden, with layers of citrus blossom, orange zest, grapefruit, sage, and a distinctive hint of salted capers. On the palate, it is bright and zesty with a lively acidity that enlivens its soft, rounded mouthfeel. The finish is clean and mineral, leaving a lingering impression of citrus and herbs.
This white wine is ideal with seafood starters such as shrimp carpaccio, mussel risotto, or grilled calamari. It also works beautifully as an aperitif, especially with hors d'oeuvres featuring olives, capers, and anchovies. Try it with soft cheeses or herb-infused dishes for a classic Sardinian match.
