Balnaves The Tally Reserve 2014
The 2014 Balnaves The Tally Reserve is an exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon from Coonawarra, crafted from handpicked fruit primarily from the Dead Morris vineyard (94.5%), with a small addition of Petit Verdot (5.5%) from the Dunstan vineyard. Aged for 18 months in 60% new French oak barriques.
Rich and deeply coloured, it boasts aromas of ripe blackberry, mulberry, cassis, and subtle hints of vanilla and coffee bean from the oak. The palate is luxurious and full-bodied, with layers of cassis, blackberry fruit, and fine-grained tannins, delivering a long, textured finish. With its complex structure and aging potential, this wine is designed to develop beautifully in the cellar over the years.
This wine pairs exquisitely with prime rib, lamb shanks, or slow-cooked beef dishes. It also complements aged hard cheeses.
