Villa Casetta Gavi Del Comune Di Gavi 2021
Gavi del Comune di Gavi, often referred to simply as Gavi, is a prestigious DOCG region in Piedmont, Italy. Located in the south-eastern part of the province of Alessandria, Gavi is renowned for its crisp, mineral-driven white wines made from the Cortese grape. The area's rolling hills and clay-limestone soils contribute to the distinctive character of its wines.
This wine is crafted entirely from the Cortese grape, a variety celebrated for its fresh acidity and delicate floral and citrus notes. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness to preserve their aromatic potential. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, maintaining the wine's freshness and purity. The wine undergoes a brief period of maturation on its lees, enhancing its texture and complexity.
The Villa Casetta Gavi del Comune di Gavi 2021 presents a pale straw yellow colour with greenish reflections. On the nose, it offers aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as apple and pear, complemented by subtle citrus notes. The palate is crisp and refreshing, with a well-balanced acidity and a clean, mineral finish.
It complements seafood, particularly shellfish and grilled fish, as well as light pasta dishes, risottos, and fresh salads. It also pairs well with soft cheeses and vegetable-based dishes. Serving temperature 8-10°C.
