Chateau Court Les Muts Bergerac Cuvee Annabelle 2020
This wine comes from the Bergerac region in southwest France, an area just east of Bordeaux. The region features clay-limestone terroirs, which are ideal for growing both red and white Bordeaux varietals. Bergerac benefits from a temperate climate influenced by the Dordogne River, which moderates the growing season, allowing for the development of ripe and balanced wines.
Cuvée Annabelle 2020 is a white blend comprising 30% Sauvignon Blanc, 15% Sauvignon Gris, 30% Sémillon, and 25% Muscadelle. The grapes are harvested slightly overripe, contributing to a rich and full-bodied style. This wine is marked by its power, elegance, and complexity, with a balance of fruit, floral, and spicy notes.
The grapes are hand-harvested from the estate's top parcels. They are vinified with careful attention to detail, and the wine is aged in oak barrels, enhancing its complexity. The slight over ripeness of the fruit gives the wine a creamy texture while preserving its acidity.
The wine has a golden colour and a floral and spicy nose, with hints of tropical fruits and subtle oak. On the palate, it is ample and silky, with a fresh and persistent finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with country charcuterie, white meats in sauce, scallops, mussels, and pressed cheeses. Service temperature 8–10°C.
