Cullen Grace Madeline 2022
The Cullen Grace Madeline is a refined white blend from the Margaret River region of Western Australia, a renowned area for premium wines. The fruit comes from the Cullen Vineyard, with vines planted in 1976 on granite and red gravelly sandy loam soils. The vineyard is dry-farmed and biodynamic, ensuring a sustainable approach to winemaking.
The blend consists of 76% Sauvignon Blanc and 24% Semillon grapes, showcasing freshness and complexity. Some grapes had skin contact for texture. A portion of the wine was fermented in a concrete egg, while 74% of the Sauvignon Blanc was aged in barrels for 6 months.
Pale straw with green tinges, the wine offers aromas of pineapple, apple, lime, and subtle citrus with a mineral edge. The palate is vibrant, with flavours of apple, lime, and citrus, supported by fresh acidity and a long, polished finish.
Pairs wonderfully with grilled seafood, herbed chicken, or goat cheese tart.
