Curatolo Arini Marsala Superiore Dolce
The Curatolo Arini Marsala Superiore Dolce is a fortified sweet wine from the Marsala region in Sicily, celebrated for its rich and elegant dessert wines. The vineyards are situated along the Marsala coastline, where cooling maritime breezes foster optimal ripeness with high sugar levels while maintaining balancing acidity. This unique microclimate contributes to the wine's complexity.
This wine is a blend of 65% Grillo, 25% Catarratto, and 10% Inzolia. Grapes undergo pre-fermentation maceration at 20–25°C for a week in stainless steel, followed by an additional week on the skins for enhanced tannin extraction. After fortification to 18% alcohol, the wine is aged for five years in a combination of Slavonian casks, French, and American oak barrels, adding layers of flavour.
Dark amber in colour, this wine boasts aromas of dried figs, almonds, honey, and vanilla. The palate is soft and round, with notes of dried fruits, nuts, and honeysuckle, leading to a sweet yet clean finish.
Perfect with aged cheeses, almond pastries, or dark chocolate desserts.
