The Dobogo Tokaji Furmint is a dry white wine from the historic Tokaj region of Hungary, known for its volcanic soils and distinctive terroir. Sourced from the First Growth vineyards of Betsek, St. Tamas, and Uragya near the village of Mad, this wine reflects the essence of Furmint, Tokaj's principal grape. The vines, planted in rhyolite, tuff, and clay soils, produce exceptionally low yields, allowing for concentrated, mineral-driven wines.

The 2019 vintage experienced extreme weather, including the hottest Hungarian summer on record since 1901, interspersed with a cold spring. Despite these challenges, the vintage produced wines with excellent balance and quality. Grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected before fermentation. The wine was aged for 10 months in three-year-old Hungarian oak barrels, which added subtle texture while preserving the grape's natural minerality and freshness.

Golden in colour, this Furmint is dry and mineral-driven. Aromas of ripe citrus, lime, and peach lead to a palate that is dry, characterful, and layered with flavours of peach blossom, citrus, and stone fruits, showcasing the variety's vibrancy.

This wine pairs beautifully with grilled fish, lemon herb chicken, or goat cheese salads. Its minerality and dry profile also complement seafood dishes like oysters or pan-seared scallops.
