Domaine Serge Laloue Sancerre 2022
The Sancerre AOC in the Loire Valley is widely known for both its whites and rosés. Rosés from this region are crafted almost exclusively from Pinot Noir, grown on soils rich in flint, limestone, and clay. The terroir imparts minerality and freshness to the wines, while the cooler climate helps preserve the vibrant acidity typical of Loire Valley. Domaine Serge Laloue's vineyards benefit from optimal sun exposure, ensuring ripe and expressive fruit.
This wine is made entirely from Pinot Noir grapes, delivering a fresh and elegant style. Known for its delicacy, Sancerre rosé typically features bright fruit flavours and floral nuances. The grapes are hand-harvested and pressed gently to extract the delicate colour and maintain freshness. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the primary fruit aromas and flavours. The wine is then aged briefly on fine lees, enhancing its texture and adding subtle complexity.
Domaine Serge Laloue's Sancerre Rose 2022 has a pale salmon hue. On the nose, it reveals aromas of red berries, such as strawberry and raspberry, alongside hints of citrus and white flowers. The palate is fresh and crisp, with flavours of wild strawberry, red currants, and a subtle mineral note. The finish is vibrant and clean.
It pairs beautifully with grilled salmon, sushi, and vegetable dishes such as ratatouille. It also complements light salads, charcuterie, and goat cheese—especially from the same region. Serve chilled at 10–12°C.
