Château La Tomaze Flirt Lecointre is produced in the Cabernet d’Anjou appellation, located in the Loire Valley of France. This region is renowned for its semi-sweet rosé wines, made predominantly from Cabernet Franc. The Loire's cool climate and diverse soils, ranging from limestone to schist, allow for the production of wines that are fresh, aromatic, and balanced with natural acidity. The style of Cabernet d'Anjou is celebrated for its approachable sweetness and lively fruit profile, making it a versatile and food-friendly wine.
This rosé demi-sec is made from 100% Cabernet Franc, a grape variety known for its bright red fruit aromas, floral notes, and refreshing acidity. Unlike drier Loire rosés, Cabernet d’Anjou wines retain some residual sugar, creating a smooth, rounded, and slightly sweet profile while still maintaining a crisp, fresh finish.
The grapes are carefully selected and undergo gentle pressing to extract the delicate pink hue from the skins. Fermentation occurs at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine's vibrant fruit character. The wine is then matured on fine lees, enhancing its texture and aromatic complexity, before being bottled young to retain its freshness and lively acidity.
This pale raspberry-pink rosé has a fragrant nose dominated by redcurrant, grapefruit, and a touch of English candy. On the palate, it is round and smooth, offering a harmonious balance between sweetness and refreshing acidity. The flavours of crisp citrus and ripe red berries create a crunchy yet indulgent texture, leading to a finish that is fruity, light, and persistent.
This rose wine pairs well with aperitifs, summer barbecues, quiche Lorraine, and Asian stir-fried rice or dumplings. The wine's subtle sweetness also enhances spiced dishes, such as Indian or Thai curries, and pairs beautifully with desserts like strawberry tart. Serve chilled at 8–10°C.
