Clos de la Roche is a prestigious Grand Cru vineyard located in Morey-Saint-Denis, within Burgundy's Côte de Nuits region. Renowned for producing some of the most robust wines of the area, it offers exceptional ageing potential. Crafted exclusively from Pinot Noir grapes, this wine embodies the classic style of the region, delivering depth and complexity.
The vinification process involves manual harvesting with meticulous sorting. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous yeasts, followed by maturation in 228-litre oak barrels, 25% of which are new, for 18 months. The wine is unfiltered and undergoes malolactic fermentation naturally.
In the glass, it presents a deep red hue. The bouquet is rich with fruity aromas of cherries and violets, complemented by subtle nutty undertones. On the palate, it is deep, full-bodied, and impeccably balanced, with a great core of fruit, beautiful transparency, ripe, fine-grained tannins, and a long, focused, and beautifully refined finish.
This red wine pairs excellently with rich dishes such as roasted game, beef Wellington, or aged cheeses.
