Chateau Gigognan Chateauneuf Du Pape Clos Du Roi 2019 White
The Chateau Gigognan Chateauneuf-du-Pape white wine comes from the renowned Chateauneuf-du-Pape region in the southern Rhone Valley. This wine is crafted primarily from Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, and Clairette grapes, showcasing the region's unique terroir with Mediterranean influences.
The wine is produced using strict manual harvesting and careful sorting to ensure optimal grape quality. It undergoes fermentation in oak barrels (55% volume, with 15% new barrels) and vats, followed by aging on fine lees for 9 months with regular stirring to enhance both volume and aromatic complexity. Aromas of stone fruit (apricot, peach), acacia flowers, and honey lead to a creamy, well-balanced palate with a long, elegant finish.
Pairs wonderfully with seafood, particularly scallops, or grilled fish, and is ideal with creamy dishes like goat cheese in filo pastry.
