Jean Noel Haton Blanc De Blancs Grand Cru Champagne
The Jean-Noel Haton Blanc de Blancs is crafted in the heart of the Champagne region, particularly in the Marne Valley, located 7 kilometres from Epernay. This area is renowned for its Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, where the Haton family has been producing Champagne since 1928. The Haton estate is committed to sustainable farming, and has a rich history of managing their vineyards and producing exceptional wines, now continued by the third and fourth generations.
This Champagne is made entirely from Chardonnay grapes, sourced from the finest Grand Cru vineyards, primarily in Avize and Mesnil-sur-Oger. The wine embodies the purity and finesse of Chardonnay, delivering a crisp, elegant, and expressive style. Aged for at least 7 years, it showcases the hallmark traits of a fine Blanc de Blancs: minerality, citrus notes, and a delicate floral profile.
The wine undergoes traditional Champagne production methods, including indigenous fermentation and ageing in the cellars for a significant period. A portion of the wine is vinified in oak, which adds depth and complexity. The wine is aged under ideal conditions, with stringent temperature control and careful management of the process to preserve its freshness and delicate floral character. This method ensures a balanced, structured Champagne that expresses both the unique terroir and the potential of its grape variety.
This Grand Cru Champagne presents a beautiful golden colour with green hues, enhanced by fine bubbles. The nose is floral and refined, with aromas of acacia, lime blossom, and citrus fruits, complemented by subtle pepper and mint notes. The palate is fresh and creamy, offering a well-balanced structure with a remarkable mineral finish. Its complexity and elegance make it a truly top-of-the-range Champagne.
It is perfect as an aperitif or paired with delicate dishes such as seafood (oysters, lobster, scallops) or fresh crab. It also complements lightly roasted poultry or goat cheese. Serve it chilled at around 8-10°C.
