This wine is produced in the Fronton AOC, situated in south-western France between the Tarn and Garonne rivers. Known for its unique terroir, the region benefits from clay and loam soils rich in gravel, which provide excellent water retention and drainage, ideal for grape ripening. The climate combines oceanic influence with the warm, dry Autan winds from the east, creating perfect conditions for cultivating Negrette, the emblematic grape of Fronton. This rare and distinctive variety, deeply rooted in local traditions, gives the wines of the region their floral and aromatic identity.
The wine is a blend of 85% Negrette and 15% Syrah grapes, showcasing a vibrant and aromatic style. Negrette, known for its intense floral notes and softness, forms the heart of the wine, while Syrah adds structure and spice. The combination results in an expressive and elegant wine with a refined character.
The grapes are harvested both mechanically and by hand, beginning with Negrette in mid-September, followed closely by Syrah. The wine undergoes traditional vinification with gentle extraction techniques and a controlled fermentation process. Maceration lasts 16–21 days, allowing the grapes to develop their full aromatic potential. Aging occurs in tanks, which preserves the vibrant floral and fruit-forward profile of the wine.
Le Pouvoir Des Fleurs 2020 displays a deep red colour with mahogany reflections. The nose is expressive and complex, offering an enchanting bouquet of violets, peonies, and subtle roses, complemented by blackberries and hints of spice. On the palate, it is elegant and smooth, with silky tannins that envelop the mouth. The floral and fruity notes persist through a long, refined finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with pigeon, suckling lamb, and veal chops. It also complements hearty options like osso bucco, as well as rich fish dishes such as zander or grilled tuna. Serve at 16°C.
