Château Meyney Saint-Estèphe 2021 is produced in the Saint-Estèphe appellation, one of the most prestigious regions in the Médoc, Bordeaux. The estate has a rich history dating back to 1625, when it was managed by Cistercian monks, making it one of the oldest vineyards in the area. Saint-Estèphe’s gravelly and clay-limestone soils, combined with its proximity to the Gironde estuary, contribute to the production of structured, age-worthy wines with excellent freshness and depth.

This vintage is a blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 12% Petit Verdot grapes. This combination reflects a classic Left Bank style, with Cabernet Sauvignon providing structure, dark fruit, and ageing potential, while Merlot adds roundness and richness, and Petit Verdot contributes spice and intensity. The vintage is marked by balance and harmony, showcasing both power and finesse.

The grapes were hand-harvested with double sorting both in the vineyard and at the winery to ensure only the finest fruit was used. Gentle vinification techniques were employed, with tailored temperature control and maceration times for each vat to achieve the best extraction. The wine was then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels, enhancing its structure and adding complexity.

Château Meyney 2021 presents a deep ruby colour. The nose is elegant and expressive, offering aromas of blackcurrant, plum, and dark cherry, intertwined with hints of cedar, tobacco, and graphite. On the palate, it is harmonious and precise, with silky tannins and a fresh acidity that enhance its balance. Notes of black fruit, spice, and subtle oak unfold beautifully, leading to a long, structured finish with excellent ageing potential.

This red wine pairs well with roast lamb, grilled ribeye steak, duck breast, and venison. It also complements truffle-infused dishes and aged cheeses like Comté and Gruyère. For the best experience, serve at 16–18°C, and decant for one hour before serving.
