This wine hails from the Pouilly-Fuisse AOC, located in the southern part of Burgundy, within the Maconnais region. Pouilly-Fuisse is renowned for producing exceptional Chardonnay wines, benefiting from the region's unique terroir, particularly the limestone-rich soils and the beneficial microclimate around the famous Roche de Solutre. Domaine Pascal Renaud, a family-run estate, crafts wines that reflect both the history and the potential of this prestigious appellation​.

Made from Chardonnay grapes, this wine comes from vines that are at least 65 years old, offering concentrated and complex flavours. The style is rich and powerful, yet balanced by a refreshing minerality. The combination of mature vines and diverse terroirs results in a wine that is both elegant and structured, suitable for ageing or early enjoyment​.

After careful manual harvesting, the grapes are gently pressed, and fermentation occurs naturally, without added yeasts, in both vats and barrels. The wine undergoes maturation for 18 months, with a small portion (25%) aged in barrels to add complexity and subtle oak notes. The remainder is aged in vats to preserve the freshness and fruitiness of the Chardonnay​.

The 2021 Pouilly-Fuisse Vieilles Vignes has a brilliant golden hue. The nose is aromatic, with notes of pear, lemon, and subtle hints of almond and hazelnut, creating a well-rounded bouquet.
