Crafted in the Stags Leap District of Napa Valley, this wine reflects the unique terroir of the region, where gravelly loam and volcanic rhyolitic tuff soils yield expressive, elegant wines. Pine Ridge Vineyards has been integral in establishing the district as a benchmark for fine Cabernet Sauvignon production.
Comprising 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Petite Sirah, and 1% Malbec, this blend showcases a complex and concentrated style, balancing opulent fruit with structural finesse.
The grapes were hand-harvested at night to preserve vibrancy. Following a gentle cold soak, fermentation was conducted in a combination of stainless steel, concrete, and oak fermenters to maximise extraction. Ageing occurred over 23 months in 100% new French oak, allowing the integration of bright fruit flavours with oak-derived nuances. The wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered for purity.
Deep ruby in colour, the wine opens with alluring aromas of cedar, espresso, and liquorice, interwoven with ripe red plum and blackberry. The palate is rich and multi-layered, offering concentrated fruit framed by smooth tannins and a vibrant, structured acidity, leading to a lingering, elegant finish.
A versatile partner for sophisticated dishes, this wine complements grilled ribeye, braised short ribs, and roasted duck. It also pairs well with aged cheeses like Gouda or Comté.
