Ruinart Rosé Champagne hails from the Champagne region of France, specifically blending Chardonnay from the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims with Pinot Noir sourced from the Montagne de Reims and Vallée de la Marne. As the first Champagne house, founded in 1729, Ruinart has a legacy of innovation, including the creation of the first rosé champagne in 1764. The house maintains its commitment to quality, using only premier and grand cru grapes to craft its wines.
The blend is composed of 45% Chardonnay and 55% Pinot Noir, with 12% vinified as red to impart colour and depth. The grapes are hand-harvested and gently pressed, with fermentation occurring in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine undergoes malolactic fermentation and is aged on lees for 2–3 years.
Ruinart Rosé Brut reveals a beautiful coral hue with rosewood highlights. On the nose, it offers an expressive bouquet of tropical fruits like pomegranate, lychee, and guava, interwoven with floral hints of damask rose and red berries. Subtle spices such as tonka bean and nutmeg add depth. The palate is vibrant and balanced, with flavours of ripe red fruits, delicate rose petals, and a refreshing touch of pink grapefruit and peppermint. The finish is long and refined.
This rosé champagne pairs wonderfully with oily fish like salmon, shellfish, and charcuterie. It also complements duck and lamb. Additionally, lighter appetisers or fruity desserts can enhance its bright, nuanced profile. Serve chilled at 8°C.
