Chateau De Sannes 1603 White 2022
This white wine is produced in the Luberon AOP, a picturesque appellation in the southern Rhône Valley of France. Renowned for its crisp and elegant whites, the region benefits from a Mediterranean climate with abundant sunshine and cooling breezes from the nearby Alps. The vineyards are planted on varied soils, enhancing the complexity of the wines. Château de Sannes practices organic viticulture, ensuring respect for the environment and the terroir's unique characteristics.
The 1603 Blanc 2022 is a blend of 65% Vermentino, 20% Ugni Blanc, and 15% Grenache Blanc grapes. The Vermentino contributes fresh citrus and minerality, Ugni Blanc adds acidity and finesse, while Grenache Blanc provides body and richness. This results in a vibrant, aromatic white wine.
Grapes are harvested from vines averaging 25 years old, with older Ugni Blanc adding depth to the blend. After direct pressing, the juice undergoes cold settling and stabulation before fermentation in heat-treated stainless steel tanks. This method preserves the wine's freshness and emphasises its fruity and mineral qualities.
Sannes 1603 Blanc 2022 is bright and exotic, with a fresh bouquet of citrus fruits like lemon, grapefruit, and blood orange, accompanied by delicate white fruit notes. The palate is elegant and mineral-driven, with a crisp, refreshing finish.
This wine pairs beautifully with shellfish, rock fish, and salads, as well as creamy cheeses. Its zesty profile also complements lightly spiced dishes and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine.
