This wine comes from the Friuli Colli Orientali DOC, located in the northeastern part of Italy, specifically the Corno di Rosazzo area. Known for its steep, terraced vineyards, this region benefits from a cool climate ideal for cultivating aromatic white wines. The soil is rich in marl, sandstone, and clay, which contributes to the wine's mineral complexity and vibrant acidity.

Made from 100% Pinot Grigio, this wine is produced in the traditional ramato style, where the grape skins are left in contact with the juice for a short period, giving the wine its distinct coppery hue. This method enhances the wine's complexity, making it more robust than typical Pinot Grigio wines, with deeper fruity and floral notes.

The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo a short period of skin contact during fermentation. This maceration allows the wine to develop its characteristic colour and intensifies the flavour profile. The wine is fermented at cool temperatures to preserve its freshness and is aged briefly before bottling.

The wine has a light pink colour with coppery reflections. On the nose, it offers a bouquet of floral and fruit aromas, including apple, pear, and berries, along with subtle notes of mountain herbs and a slight mineral edge. The palate is smooth and creamy, with intense fruity flavours that persist. It finishes with a refreshing, slightly savoury character.

Specogna Pinot Grigio Ramato pairs beautifully with seafood dishes such as crab, shrimp, and scallops. It also complements pasta and rice dishes, as well as light salads and grilled vegetables. Serve chilled at 8–10°C.
