Produced on the northwestern slopes of Mount Etna, in the municipality of Randazzo, this wine comes from vines that are over 60 years old. The unique volcanic soils of the Etna DOC region, coupled with its altitude of 650–850 metres above sea level, contribute to the wine's elegance and minerality. The region's cool, ventilated climate and significant diurnal temperature variation help retain complexity in the wines.

Made from 100% Nerello Mascalese, this wine represents the pinnacle of Etna's winemaking traditions. Nerello Mascalese is often compared to Pinot Noir for its elegance and subtlety but also delivers the structure and complexity characteristic of its volcanic terroir. The wine is dry, with medium body and vibrant acidity.

The grapes are hand-harvested in October. After fermentation with an extended maceration of at least 40 days, the wine is aged for 24 months in French oak tonneaux followed by a lengthy bottle-aging period. This approach ensures the development of refined tannins and nuanced aromas.

The 2014 Cirneco showcases a pale ruby red colour with garnet nuances. Aromatically, it is intense and complex, with notes of red fruit, spices, and a distinctive lava minerality. On the palate, it is warm and robust, balancing acidity and tannins with finesse. Its long, persistent finish highlights its dynamic and soft character.

This wine pairs beautifully with red meats, game, and hard cheeses. Its rich structure and earthy notes make it a superb match for dishes like grilled steak, venison, or aged pecorino. Serving temperature 18°C.
